"Celebrating the Community of Women: From Suffrage to Today"

On August 26, 1920, the thousands of suffragists who fought for the right to vote celebrated the passage of the 19th Amendment granting federal suffrage to women.

Ninety years later the Sewall-Belmont House & Museum is delighted to continue the celebration and to honor women who have influenced the lives of family members, friends and their communities. We recognize these women who each, in their own way, continue the legacy of women’s progress toward equality.

We thank our supporters for their generous contributions to both this and the physical exhibit which was on display at the Museum until August 26, 2011.
